Best practices before you convert

When PNG is better than JPG

PNG is a strong choice for PDF pages with text, line art, UI screenshots or graphics where sharp edges matter. It is usually larger than JPG, but the result is often cleaner for documents and interface captures.

Use PDF to PNG when you plan to place a page in a design tool, keep a crisp screenshot, or avoid compression artifacts around text.

Pages and output

Export all pages for a full document conversion, choose a single page for a quick image, or enter a range when only part of the PDF is needed. Multiple pages are packaged as a ZIP file with predictable page names.

FAQ

Can I convert every page of a PDF to PNG?

Yes. LiftPDF converts every page into a separate PNG image.

Can I convert only one PDF page?

Yes. Choose Single page and enter the page number you want to export as PNG.

Can I export a page range?

Yes. Use Page range for selections such as 1-3 or 1,3,5-8.

What happens with multi-page PDFs?

Multi-page PDFs are downloaded as a ZIP file containing page-1.png, page-2.png and the remaining pages.

Does PNG keep transparent backgrounds?

When possible, you can keep transparent PDF areas transparent with the transparent background option. Most regular PDFs render on a white page background.

Why is there no DPI option?

LiftPDF uses simple Standard and High render quality settings instead of promising a print DPI value that may not match every PDF.

Password-protected PDFs must be unlocked first with Unlock PDF before conversion.

Are my PDF files uploaded?

No. The conversion runs client-side with PDF.js, canvas and JSZip.
